Grand Theft Auto VI launches on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, so neither console is getting the game first. Everything else people compare — resolution, frame rate modes, load times and any platform-exclusive content — is not yet announced by Rockstar. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. Rockstar has not announced a version for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2 or cloud streaming services.
Both platforms get the game on the same date. Rockstar has not announced console-exclusive missions, timed exclusive content, or a marketing partnership that changes what either version includes.
What has not been announced
Target resolution and frame rate on each console: not yet announced by Rockstar. Whether there are separate quality and performance modes: not yet announced. Whether Xbox Series S runs at a lower target than Series X: not yet announced, although the S is a less powerful machine and games generally scale down on it.
Ray tracing, 120Hz support, haptics on the DualSense and Quick Resume behaviour on Xbox have all gone unmentioned so far. We will not guess at any of them.
