GTA 6 on PS5 Pro — Is There an Enhanced Version?
Grand Theft Auto VI is confirmed for PlayStation 5, and the PS5 Pro plays PlayStation 5 games, so the game will run on a PS5 Pro. Whether it gets a dedicated PS5 Pro Enhanced mode — higher resolution, upscaling, improved ray tracing or a higher frame-rate target — is not yet announced by Rockstar.
What is confirmed
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. Rockstar has not announced a version for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2 or cloud streaming services.
The PS5 Pro is part of the PlayStation 5 family and runs PlayStation 5 software, so a separate announcement is not needed for the game to work on it. What would need announcing is a Pro-specific enhancement, and that has not happened.
What a Pro Enhanced label would mean
Sony's PS5 Pro Enhanced badge is applied to games that a developer has specifically updated for the Pro hardware. That can mean a higher rendering resolution, Sony's own upscaling, or extra graphics features enabled on the more powerful machine.
Rockstar has not said whether Grand Theft Auto VI will carry that badge, and we will not assume it. If it does, it will appear on the game's store listing.
Should you buy a PS5 Pro for GTA 6?
There is no announced benefit to point to yet, so buying a Pro specifically for this game is a bet rather than an informed decision. A standard PlayStation 5 is a confirmed supported platform.
