Confirmed platforms

OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2 or PC version announced. A last-generation release is not expected given the visual target of the trailers.

Pre-ordering

COMMUNITY DISCUSSION

Pre-orders matter mainly for physical copies and for spreading the cost. Digital buyers can usually pre-load a day or two before launch; nothing is lost by waiting until pricing and edition details are official.

Storage and pre-load

SPECULATION

No install size has been published. Recent open-world releases have run well over 100 GB, so freeing space in advance is sensible — but any specific figure you see quoted for Grand Theft Auto VI is an estimate.

Launch day tips

CONFIRMED

Expect heavy store and server load at launch. Pre-loading early, checking your console has the latest system update, and avoiding unofficial 'early access' offers will save the most trouble.
